MAX KLEIN BIBLE MINISTRIES

The Eucharist is commanded for Christians of the Church Age

Written by: Max Klein

1 Corinthians 11:23-26

11:23. For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus in the night in which he was betrayed took the bread;

11:24. and when he had given thanks [at the end the Passover Meal], he broke it [the bread without leaven] and said, “This represents my body [which is given as] a substitute for you [genitive of advantage]; keep on doing this is remembrance of Me.”

The Lord Jesus Christ converted the celebration of the Passover Meal into the Communion-Memorial-ritual of the Church Age.

11:25. In the same manner, [He took] the cup also after supper saying, “This cup is the new covenant (a new spiritual life for Church Age believers explained in the epistles) [signed] in my blood (redemption, propitiation, and reconciliation); keep on doing this in as often as you drink in remembrance of me.

Christians are commanded by the Lord to observe the Eucharist until He returns at the Rapture of the Church.

11:26. For as often as you eat this bread or drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until He comes.

The Christian is commanded to celebrate in the Eucharist the substitutive atonement of Jesus Christ until the Church Age comes to a close at the Rapture.
